2. What data we collect and why

  • Contact form submissions — name, email address, and message. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (responding to enquiries).
  • Instructor matching requests — name, email, phone number, postcode, and lesson preferences. Lawful basis: contract performance (matching you with an instructor).
  • Quiz follow-up enquiry — name and email address when you choose to request a follow-up. Lawful basis: consent.
  • Technical/analytical data — Google Analytics is currently disabled. If enabled in future, it will only load after consent and a valid measurement ID is configured. We do not send names, email addresses or enquiry text to analytics.

3. How we use your data

  • To respond to your enquiries and messages
  • To review an instructor enquiry and, where possible, pass it to an instructor for direct follow-up
  • To respond to the quiz follow-up you requested
  • To improve our website and services
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making.

4. Who we share your data with

  • Driving instructors — if you submit an instructor request, relevant contact details and postcode may be shared with an instructor where an introduction is possible. Any lesson arrangement is made directly with the instructor.
  • Email service providers — we use SMTP via our domain email host to send and receive messages.
  • Google Analytics — disabled at present. If configured and enabled later, analytics will only load after your consent.
  • Legal obligations — we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of others.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Contact and instructor enquiries: 2 years from the date of submission, then deleted.
  • Lead magnet sign-ups: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Analytics data: subject to Google Analytics retention settings (default 14 months).

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing of your data
  • Portability of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
